Normandale's Business Programs are nationally accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Associate in Science Degree in Business: Marketing and Management

This degree is designed for possible employment at the associate degree level and for transfer to a bachelor of science program, such as business, marketing, management, accounting, education or agriculture at some Minnesota state colleges and universities, private colleges and the University of Minnesota.  The AS degree includes 30 credits of general education from at least six goals of the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum.

In addition to the traditional degree program, the Business Department offers an accelerated Associate in Science Degree in Business, which is a cohort program designed for working adults. Students take classes two nights a week.
Normandale offers monthly information sessions about the Accelerated Business Program (ABP). For meeting times and locations, application materials or other information call 952-487-8163.

Pre-Business Administration Accounting


The Normandale curriculum offers courses that satisfy the freshman and sophomore business administration requirements of a baccalaureate degree program and includes liberal education, business background and economic theory courses. This is a general composite of courses students may find in Minnesota colleges and universities.

As an urban community college business department, we educate men and women of diverse backgrounds who can function effectively and responsibly in managerial and/or professional roles in both private or public, and large or small organizations.

Teaching current business concepts, technologies, trends and practices; delivering course offerings, programs of study and advising of superior quality and value which respond to the changing needs of our students; providing associate degree-level curricula and certificates which meet or exceed college transfer or workplace standards; educational experiences for students to develop skills in business, research, communications, teamwork, leadership, global perspective and critical thinking; initiatives and alliances with the internal continuing education and contract learning division, community organizations, employers and other educational institutions.

Normandale's long-established business program is considered an important resource for training in a variety of areas, including: entrepreneurship, sales, insurance, retailing, marketing communications, public relations, wholesaling, financial marketing and operations, warehousing, distribution, inventory control, credit and collections, health care operations and management training positions in high-tech firms, small and medium-size corporations, and non-profit organizations. A relationship with area businesses aids in internship placement and work opportunities.

The program offers two degrees (Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science) and several certificate options. Diverse instructional methods are offered to meet student needs, including on-campus day, evening and weekend traditional and web-enhanced courses, online courses, less-than-full semester courses and for working adults, a coordination with the Prior Learning Assessment at Normandale (PLAN) Program and an Accelerated Cohort Program.
