Academic Support Center

The ASC provides help in basic skills assistance such as reading, writing, study skills, vocabulary, English, spelling, and mathematics. Tutors and staff are available to help student improve their academic skills. There is no charge.
Career and Academic Planning Center
The Career and Academic Planning Center is located near the main entrance. It contains a comprehensive collection of resources related to academic, career and life planning issues. These resources include transfer guides, course descriptions, course syllabi, course equivalency guides, as well as information on career trends, specific occupations, related majors and programs of study, job seeking, scholarships and personal issues.

Cooperative Education
Earn credit in your work or volunteer setting through cooperative education courses. You can earn up to 8 credits in one area depending on time invested. Research, study projects, and weekly meetings complement your time in the community or on the job. For more information about Cooperative Education programs, please call Ken Bursaw at (952)487-7041.

Professional qualified and experienced counselors are available and qualified to assist you in areas of academic, career and personal concerns.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

In addition to financial aid loans, grants, and work-study, the Normandale Community College Foundation plans to fund over $150,000 in scholarships next year. Scholarships range in value up to $2,500 a year credited toward tuition and fees.
Kopp Student Center Services
The Kopp Student Center information desk provides a wide variety of services and general information to students including gameroom equipment, check cashing, stamps, student discount bus passes and movie tickets, access to a fax machine, and lost & found.

Office of Student Life
The Office of Student Life (OSL) is located on the second level and oversees the operation of the College Center. Offices for Student Senate, Normandale Program Board (the student program board), The Lions' Roar (student newspaper), Phi Theta Kappa (student honor society), and clubs and organizations office is located in the College Center.
Office for Students With Disabilites (OSD)
The Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) is Normandale's program to provide accommodations for students with disabilities. The goal of the program is to ensure that students with a documented disability will have equal access to Normandale courses, programs, and events through appropriate and reasonable accommodations. These disabilities include, but are not limited to, learning disabilities, hearing and vision losses, physical and psychological disabilities, attention deficit disorders, and other health related disabilities.
