Sam Oblekson speaks at Sustainability Series

Normandale hosts Sustainability Series event on April 24

Normandale hosts a third and final speaker as part of its Sustainability Speaker Series on Wednesday, April 24 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Garden Room.

The third speaker will be Gabby Menomin from Wakan Tipi Awanyakapa (formerly known as the Lower Phalen Creek Project).

The Sustainability Series has previously featured Leah Lemm from MPR (on April 3) and Sam Oblekson from Full Circle Indigenous Planning + Design (on April 17).

Lemm’s presentation talked about the storytelling, the environment, and her own career journey as a radio and podcast host/producer and singer/songwriter, as well as her perspective as a citizen of the Miller Lacs Band of Ojibwe.

Olberkson led a great conversation how about being how to thoughtful and intentional in helping communities and organizations develop unique strategies to create culturally appropriate, operationally efficient and fiscally responsible design solutions based on careful planning for long-term growth and success.
