Normandale Fine Arts Gallery hosts Visions for America Exhibit from October 1-November 7

The Normandale Fine Arts Gallery will host a reception for the Visions for America exhibit on Monday, October 7 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The Visions for America exhibit can be seen in the Fine Arts Gallery from October 1 to November 7.

Community members and the Normandale campus community are invited the public reception, which features Legacy and Contemporary photographers as they investigate myriad ideas surrounding life, places and changing visions for America. The classic photography of early-to mid-20th century American photography masters like Edward S. Curtis, Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Gordon Parks, Walker Evans, Arthur Rothstein, Russell Lee, and John Vachon, are displayed alongside contemporary photographers’ works that redefine what subjects photographers explore in current society, and expands the notions and ideas of what makes a creative photograph.

Contemporary photographers explore a wide range of practice, from Fine Art Conceptual works, to Editorial and News photography, to Advocacy, the Landscape, Portraits, and more. The contemporary artists include Layne Kennedy, Mitch Kezar, Carl Corey, Nedahness Greene, Yvonne Klocek, Cate Vermeland, Shun Jie Yong, and Brad Daniels.

The Fine Arts Gallery hosts a variety of exhibits throughout the year that feature national and local artists. Some of the local and national artists featured are Normandale instructors. There are also exhibits that feature the works of Normandale art student, as well as local high school art students.
