The Summer High School Enrollment Program (SHEP) at Normandale lets you earn college credit during the summer.
High school students entering the 10th, 11th and 12th grades can earn credits when Post Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) and concurrent enrollment funding is not available.
Summer college classes for high school students are accelerated: you’ll cover 15 weeks of curriculum in five to seven weeks during the summer. Students spend much more time in class each day, and you will need to plan for study time.
Tuition, fees, and books for summer session courses are the student's responsibility. The Minnesota Department of Education does not fund these courses. Financial aid is not available. Some summer session classes may begin before your high school's term has ended. Students are expected to attend classes at the college.
Select First Year, Returning, or Transfer Student for application type. If you have already taken classes through PSEO at Normandale, you can skip this step.
2. Submit Acknowledgement eForm
All high school students taking courses during the summer must submit the Summer High School Enrollment Acknowledgement eForm.
You must meet required any pre-requisites or placement levels for a class prior to registration.
Applicants are accepted to the summer program only. They are not admitted into the PSEO program, nor as general undergraduate students.
If you are interested in also taking classes with us during fall and spring semesters while you are in high school, apply to the PSEO program.
If you have already graduated from high school, apply for undergraduate admission instead.
