Congratulations on your admission to Normandale! We're excited to welcome you to the Normandale community on campus.
After receiving your acceptance letter, you may be wondering what comes next. Here is a new student checklist you can use to make your first semester go smoothly.
Attend Orientation to learn all the details about being a Normandale Student!
Follow this new student checklist to make sure you’re prepared for classes and set up for online learning.
The NCC card is your official Normandale student identification. Photo ID cards are issued to students free of charge and will be available 24 hours after registering for classes.
Visit the Services Desk in the Kopp Student Center to pick up your card. You will need to bring a photo ID and your Tech ID number with you to collect it.
Normandale uses your student e-mail as the primary means of communication. All students should check their Normandale email often!
You will need your StarID and password to access your e-mail. You created a StarID as part of the admissions process.
If you run into trouble, contact the ITS Help Desk for help.
Visit e-Services to print and save your course schedule. Make sure your schedule is accurate and you understand how your classes will be taught.
e-Services is also where you'll go to register for classes, check your grades, change your contact info and drop or withdraw classes.
Once you have a copy of your schedule, order your textbooks online through the Normandale Bookstore website.
The Bookstore offers detailed step-by-step instructions on how to place an order. You will receive an e-mail after your order has been placed and another as when it's ready. Books can be shipped to your home for a delivery fee or picked up at Normandale. The Bookstore website has details about both options.
Pay for books with a credit card or add it to your tuition and fees bill through Book Charging. Book Charging provides an interest-free line of credit for books, supplies and technology (up to $600).
It’s not grant money or financial aid. You are still responsible for the cost of the books, but this allows you to "charge" it and wait until the semester has started to pay.
When you register for classes, you are responsible for the tuition and fees. Discuss your payment options or sign up for a payment plan with Student Services. You can view your tuition bill and make payments online through e-Services.
Student Services staff can also help you complete your financial aid or MN Dream Act application, check the status of your application and confirm when funds will be disbursed.
Discuss any last-minute changes with an academic advisor. They provide same-day service for topics such as:
Advising and Counseling appointments are available on weekdays through Zoom, on-campus Express Advising and by phone. Schedule an appointment online, or access help through live chat. You'll need your StarID or Tech ID number.
