Register to attend Normandale as a visiting student – we’d love to have you join us!
Visiting students can register for any course for which they qualify and still have access to the best our campus has to offer. Registration for visiting students is ongoing. You do not need to apply for admission and are not required to attend orientation.
Registration issues related to a prerequisite that may have been met should be resolved through the Prerequisite Verification Form. For more information or assistance looking up your Star ID, resetting your password, or troubleshooting registration, connect via live chat or call (952) 358-8100.
As a Normandale visiting student, you can use your time here to meet prerequisites for graduate studies, enhance your job skills or explore an area of interest. Pick up a few classes at Normandale while you’re enrolled at another college or university.
A visiting student must meet required course prerequisites or placement levels. Visiting students must not:

You will need to create a Minnesota State StarID Account to complete the process. Learn more about Registering.
You don't need to create a new account. Use your existing account to log in to eServices and search for Normandale classes.
If you wish to register for a course with prerequisites, submit a prerequisite verification form.
You'll see prerequisites listed in eServices and the college catalog. It is your responsibility to enroll only in courses for which you have met the requirements.
You may need to provide transcripts or show documentation to satisfy course placement. You may be removed from a class without a refund if prerequisites are not met.
When you register for classes, you are responsible for the tuition and fees. View your tuition bill and make payments online through e-Services.
Visiting students may use financial aid from their home institution. Financial aid is not available through Normandale. Tuition payment dates vary. Payment arrangements are available.
You can buy books online. Or, to purchase them in person, print out your class schedule and visit the Textbook Depot located in the lower level of the Kopp Student Center K0436.
The NCC card is your official Normandale student ID. NCC cards are issued to students free of charge and will be available 24 hours after registering for classes.
Visit the Services Desk in the Kopp Student Center to pick up your card. You will need to bring a photo ID and your Tech ID number with you to collect it.
Normandale provides an e-mail account for all students. This is the only e-mail account we will use to communicate with you.
You will need your StarID and password to access your student email. Contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance.
If you have registered for an online course, the D2L Brightspace Orientation Videos will help you become familiar with our online course delivery system. You will need your StarID and password to log in to D2L.
Affordable, short programs provide non-credit courses and certificate programs for individuals, teams and organizations.
MN residents 62 or older can enjoy reduced-rate and tuition-free learning options.
High school students can take on-campus or online courses and earn free college credits while completing high school.
