Recreation and Fitness provides a variety of sports and fitness opportunities to help you stay in shape. Whether you’re looking to burn calories, build muscle, or relieve stress, there’s something for everyone.
Meet new friends, have fun and stay active by participating in recreational sports or joining group fitness classes. You might find a workout buddy while you’re exercising in the fitness center or connect with a classmate over yoga. We also offer lockers and sports equipment rentals.
Physical health impacts your mental health and academic life, too. Healthy individuals make better students, and better students make healthier communities.
Enjoy using your sports abilities or develop new skills by participating in recreational sports! Past club sports have included basketball, flag football, ice hockey, and soccer.
Our newly renovated fitness center and gym are free to all Normandale students! Stop in to use weights, exercise machines, and other sports equipment.
Participants of all fitness levels are invited to join our group fitness classes. Meet new friends while you stay active.

There is a variety of locker options available to rent by the day. These lockers are for DAY USE only. We charge a $30 fee for locker keys returned late or lost.
Normandale offers two facilities for students, faculty and staff to use; the Fitness Center and the Gym.
The Fitness Center features Cybex weight resistance machines along with ellipticals, treadmills, dumbbells, kettle bells, two smith machines and Free Motion exercise equipment.
The Fitness Center is open and free to all currently enrolled Normandale students. To use the facility, please bring your student ID and appropriate fitness attire including a pair of gym shoes.
The Fitness Center is open to all current staff and faculty of Normandale at a rate of $30/semester or $50/year. Please visit the Business Office to purchase a pass or stop by the Activities Desk for more information.
PLEASE NOTE: While our Fitness Center staff are there to assist with fitness equipment and guidance, we are not personal trainers.
